Worth Watching
Though it doesn't seem to be a big budget production, it struck me as being well done, if for the message alone. I would give it 4 1/2 stars if I could, but since I can't I rounded it up to 5 because I felt it did deserve more than 4. The story is outlined in the product description, so I won't repeat it. This was a moving story that made me teary-eyed at times, but in a good way. The ony reason I could see for giving it a PG rating was that it did deal with a death at one point, so I guess that was the "thematic element." There was no foul language, violence or sex. It is all very family appropriate. It teaches a great message about people mattering so much more than things.
My only complaint is that there are a few places in the movie where the characters don't say their lines very clearly and it was difficult to catch the words. This is not the case with Bruce Davison's character--he is excellent, as usual.
The movie presents a much needed reminder about the things that...

What I didn't expect was to be watching this the day after my brother passed away after a long, drawn out illness. I would wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone--it says a great deal about renewing the spirit and caring about other people as well as being a great Christmas story. Yes, there are some sad moments, but I had shed so many tears that a few more didn't seem to matter. There were some instances that the acting left a bit to be desired (not Mr. Davison's), but the overall feel and idea of the story should not be missed. In a world where car chases and gratuitous violence seem to rule a large...
Great
We just watched this yesterday and really enjoyed it. It is an interesting story and it is great to see how lives can be changed by just one person. Mystery, romance and lots of Christmas good cheer.
